Despite anything else you might hear it is PEOPLE running this war. The gov is nowhere to be seen. They were reluctant to meet on the morning of the war – both Sat (day of rest) and Chag Simchat Tora (a Jewish holiday to celebrate the receiving of the bible at mt. SINAI). This extreme right gov of lunatics actually refused to gather until 15:00!! Fighting began at 06:30. We were in shelters in the center of IL already at 07:30 but these mad, incompetent gov members wanted to let us DIE. This is my view and it is shared by many others. Also not shared by many – AMAZINGLY NOT SHARED.
We are people living on a strip of land that has the smell of dry blood from generations ago – again and again more blood has been spilt on this same land. Each one of our people have seen so many wars – Jews, Arabs, Christians, Druze and Bedouins alike. We are people who used to believe that we – the people of Israel – would always be there for each other. We believed that all Jews were united. But since this gov was sworn into power we learnt the painful truth: that groups of Jews within IL are very much against other groups of Jews.
We learnt that some – because even within the many groups of religious orthodox Jews there are opposing opinions – some wish to forcefully change other Jews' lives and daily practices. One very extreme group headed by an entrepreneur and a real-estate tycoon by the name of Israel Zeira opened a fund just for that cause. Headed by a Rabbi, the two received enormous amounts of money – they as well as numerous other similar groups – made it their aim to "have more variety in the various streams of Judaism within Israel's towns and cities".
These views were not only shared by the current gov. and they were also pushed forward on the expense of cutting many budgets intended for non-religious education, health, higher education and money for the elderly, sick, handicapped and all weaker non-religious people in our society. This was done very quickly – actually at what seemed like lightning speed in what couldn't have been just a coincidence…All this between Jan. and up until this past Sat. when the current war broke out.
As you know – many of us went out onto the streets to demonstrate week after week. We fought through the courts and through petitions. But to be honest, almost nothing truly helped our very just and genuine cause. My husband and I held talks in our home – talks including Jews with various opinions – and each time we came to the same conclusions:
- Israel has a very young populations that has been well brainwashed by its religious leaders – all too eager to keep their disciples at their side for the sake of political power and much more. I believe that for the sake of moving and relocating huge families from one place in IL to another. These families – and the more religious the more loyal they will be – are comprised of GOOD people who want nothing more than to worship God. To have children and multiply. The lead decent lives learning and studying torah.
These Jews could be moved relatively easily from the settlements for example to central Israel. They depend spiritually, financially and in the very communal life on each other. Wherever their Rabbi goes, many of them or all will follow. People = power. Power = money. Money = more power. And so it goes on and on.
So, why am I writing all of this? Because – and again these are my opinions and interpretations as a Jewish woman who grew up to S.A. parents who came to Israel as strong Zionists. I was born in 1971 and remember well the time of the Yom Kippur war when I was barely 1.10 months.
Please read the following article about what happened in Tel Aviv days before this last war started. Read about what happened this past day of atonement (Yom Kippur) which in fact was the 50th year since the Yom Kippur war. Please read about the growing and widespread opinions and differences of the Jews in IL in 2023. Read about the ideas shared and supported by our current gov. These are ideas that concern *changing the lifestyles of many of the people who built this country with their two bare hands!!!*. Ideas that have an intentional and potentially dangerous thread against any person who calls themselves a Jew but does not lead a Jewish lifestyle.

After you read this you will perhaps better understand why we are utterly angry, furious and shocked that it took:
8 hours after the war began for the cabinet gov. to meet. Today – on the 4th day of the war – if I am not mistaken will be their 2nd meeting! On the 1st day of war religious groups were DANCING for joy in the streets of TLV celebrating festivities of Simchat Torah, while other Jews in the South were counting their dead and fighting with no help from the IL police or army?!!!!!!, if I understand and read correctly! On the 1st day of war full families were closed up in their houses with rockets, gunfire, and terrorists around their houses for hours!!! Some for days! Many died burnt alive while their houses were broken down. Some were tortured, raped, or kidnapped – children and woman. Elderly people – all these people never lifted a finger against a person during their civilian life, and in fact many sought ways to achieve PEACE. One of the Kibbutzim attacked – where a friend of mine grew up…a friend who only just lost her brother who was killed by a terrorist in TLV just a few weeks ago! – was called Kibbutz REIM. REIM is the closest kibbutz to Gaza. People there are not religious Jews. These are people who have helped people in GAZA to rebuild their houses after Israeli gov. orders for bombardments on the Gaza strip.
Kibbutz Reim and many others in the Southern area of Israel where some of strongest and most wonderful people live within our boarders…That area was subjected to the extreme horrors of Sat. morning! To the most un – protected, completely insecure areas that were infiltrated by Hamas in a mission that I do not believe could have been as successful under any other gov but THIS ONE.
Read this article and see clearly why the area was clear from many IDF troops. It is hard to believe how this was agreed upon by the gov or by army officials of the IDF, but it is crystal clear when you consider WHO…Who is our PM? Who is our current Miniter of Defense?Who is our interior Minister of Defense?! And…
WHAT? What was the IDF busy with just days or hours before the war broke out on Sat. morning?! A sukkah!!! A sukkah was erected for the celebrations of the Sukkot Jewish holiday! For the 1st time in the history of Israel a sukkah was built smack in the middle of the Arab village HAWARA which is NOT part of our official land and is of course in the occupied territories. Territories where some our ministers grew up in. Territories that some of our ministers perceive as OURS.
A provocatively place sukkah was built along with ongoing statement by the neighboring Jewish settlers – in a settlement that had suffered many ongoing attacks and shocking killings of Arabs from Hawara. A settlement of excellent and good Jewish who are religious people that want to at this point in time KILL anyone living person from that village.
In order to successfully keep the sukkah up as well as have important prayers (for who again? Important for which stream of Judaism?!) all around the Judea and Shomron area – the settlers needed troops for their provocative and obviously dangerous endeavors!
Which troops of the IDF were asked to move?
You have but one guess!!!
